When James Squire was caught stealing the ingredients to craft the colony’s first beer, he was punished with 150 lashes of a whip. Thankfully for us, James Squire remained undeterred and kept on brewing with bravery and passion, perfecting the flavour of his brews. In honour of his drive and hustle, we named our iconic Australian pale ale after him.
